wow its been a while...

Okay so it has been awhile since I posted anything so here is an up date... My computer crapped out on me and took a bit to get it up and running(for now). Had lots of things going on including getting my divorce papers turned in (mini victory) on a down note though with the threat of the government "shutting down" I wont get a court date for a bit. And with many friends in the military I'm feeling a little pissed about them not getting paid for their service. Especially one friend in particular because her husband leaves in a few weeks to go to Afghanistan leaving her and their daughter behind to fend for themselves b/c he wont be getting paid! Also on the note of Japan its heart breaking and wish there was more we could do for all those people displaced by the disasters that are plaguing them at the moment. But carrying on with the main reason for my blogging is my crocheting... much projects have come to an end and one has just begun the long journey to completion...

a blanket for grandma

So I'm taking a small break from crochet for a few days after this project! I had only a few days to make this blanket for my grandma's 70Th birthday. The whole thing was a surprise. My aunt decided to have a last minute surprise party for her and it was a HUGE surprise. To top it off I gave her this blanket made in her favorite color YELLOW! She was so happy to see it :) and a bonus I got to meet my cousin's wife Jo Jo and her new bundle of joy. Good thing I brought baby James's blanket too :)

All and all a good day for us all, hugs all around. Only down fall is hubby got in a pretty bad wreck on the way home from work and his fave car didn't make it out alive so I'll be surprising him with a blanket with the "Mits" emblem and colors on it. hope he likes it <3

cute little top hat

So I found this cute little hat on a friends blog a few days back and just had to make it. Unfortunately the pattern was untested so I decided I couldn't pass it up and started working on it. That pattern called for and "I" sized hook and #4 worsted weight yarn. After a whole night of working on it and working out the bugs I decided to turn in for the night by that time it was 11:30! Well I just finished it this morning and I had to unravel it like 3 more times but here it is. And my beautiful big girl Zoie is modeling it for me though it's to big for her. This pattern can be made smaller by using a smaller hook or deleting a row or two on the top. That's why I love it! I can now make a matching hat for her and my 9 month old baby girl, we will be a couple of Madd Hatters lol :) yes I'm a dork but ya gotta love it. After the blog fixes the pattern I'll post a link or you can contact me and I'll email it to you.

my first sweater

So I got this email with a surprise sweater pattern in it and decided I would try it out seeing how I have a TON of yarn and no thoughts on what to make.... so here it is my very first sweater it only took me a day with the daily hustle and bustle of being a stay at home mom. I made it big for my baby's Xmas's present though I believe she'll be able to wear it 2 Xmas's in a row lol. I used a "G" sized hook and it came out bigger than expected but oh well :) I have enough yarn left to make a super cute hat to match it so that picture will come soon. But here is the sweater. and I really need a new couch! lol

i just had the greatest idea!

i just had a thought...for Christmas ordaments and a arrangement of other hanging thing-a-ma-gigs i could use a soft easy to bend metal wire like yarn to "crochet" do-dads. ill post a picture next week after i get me some wire and test my awesome idea out. crossing my fingers and hoping its not an epic "FAIL" lol

rainbow collar cover bandana

A quick easy way to "PIMP" your dog and use up old yarn you have nothing better to do with :)
A simple collar cover and not as hot and annoying to your dog. Best for the dogs that hate wearing things. TALA my model loves to dress up so she was very happy to wear and model her new bandana.

Doggie bow tie

Made this cute little bow for a friend's doggie. The bow is modled by my little poochie TALA. It's a pattern combo of a collar cover and a hair bow. Best part is you can make this in a TON of colors!

love bots

This cute little pair are V-Day robots out of a magazine put out this year. Can't remember which one there are many I get lol. They were very easy and only the 2nd Amigurumi I've made. I'm currently working on the Ali unicorn, followed by Clop which I hope comes out better than these attempts even though they were quite good. If you're really wanting this pattern i will gladly send you the name and print date of the mag. But it may take a bit to find the right one! lol
