I'm still here!

I know its been a long time since i posted but boy have I've been busy. Not much with crochet Im afraid but with the life of being a working mom. I made a few things here and there and will be posting them as soon as I get some pictures sorted of everything. Since the last post Ive gotten a full time job that wears me out, and a newly potty trained 2yr old (YAY NO MORE DIAPERS) and a puppy. We named him Einstein <3 Zoie is about to complete her 1st year of school with high grade (YAY ZOIE) but it has been a rough ride with her ADHD and a very crappy school but we did it. Also she has started girl scouts and we both enjoy it. All in all everything has been good. Just letting everyone know im still here making stuff just not posting them...yet. Will have some great pictures and fun stuff soon its just going to take some time.

love, me

i love pit bulls and I'm big on advocating for them. I don't care about their supossed "bad rap" they ARE good dogs and I LOVE them. So I was asked by one of my groups to take the challenge of sharing this video of pit bulls being "adora-bull" I hope you enjoy it and take the time to share it as well.

Care-a-lot baby afghan

Here is the almost done care-a-lot afghan made for my friend who's having a baby girl. This amazingly was my first attempt at a crochet pattern that used a graph. All that is left is embroidered outlines and a edging. Might put a backing on it... not sure yet we will see :)

It's Finally Done!

So as the title states I'm finally done with this baby blanket! I was hoping that it would be bigger but it took so long to do each square (3-5 hours) that by the time I got to 6 squares I was beyond being done! As I was finishing this we got news that my brother in law was having a another girl and I decided that instead of selling this (after news of the baby it was intended for was miscarried) I would pass it to another baby that could enjoy it. I still have to block it as a few of the squares were stretched thanks to a little girl of mine lol. And as for the friend that has lost her baby she's getting married at the end of April and I'll be sending her and her man a afghan to snuggle under and hopefully it will cheer them up :)

Luis's Army Afghan DONE

So the jacob's ladder army afghan is done and Luis has it on his bunk in Korea. He loves it so I'm happy :) He had alot of people comment on it so I'm thinking about making some more and send them that way but first I need to come in to some money! lol but any who here it is enjoy.

New Project: A Rainbow for Mom

Okay so here is the rainbow for my mom... a queen sized dc afghan. and it is kicking my ass to say the least. I'm maybe a fourth of the way done and found out that they stopped making the green so I had to find a color close to it :/ oh well. I want it done my her birthday in June but I'm starting to think its not going to happen lol. Each colored section is 2 rows and each row takes about 10 mins to do. I've been super busy lately with Zoie's therapy and meltdowns that I don't get a lot of time to work on it so I maybe get 2 colors done a day if I'm luck. Wish me speed and luck!

wow its been a while...

Okay so it has been awhile since I posted anything so here is an up date... My computer crapped out on me and took a bit to get it up and running(for now). Had lots of things going on including getting my divorce papers turned in (mini victory) on a down note though with the threat of the government "shutting down" I wont get a court date for a bit. And with many friends in the military I'm feeling a little pissed about them not getting paid for their service. Especially one friend in particular because her husband leaves in a few weeks to go to Afghanistan leaving her and their daughter behind to fend for themselves b/c he wont be getting paid! Also on the note of Japan its heart breaking and wish there was more we could do for all those people displaced by the disasters that are plaguing them at the moment. But carrying on with the main reason for my blogging is my crocheting... much projects have come to an end and one has just begun the long journey to completion...

here's some much needed info...

As you may know I love my pets and animals in general as I make posts from time to time showing off things Ive made them, he he, but I'm also a big pit bull fan which may drive more than a few people nuts seeing how I have two small children, But in this article at the link posted (the title) you can read a very interesting blog post on dog attacks that happened in 2010. All of which have been broken down to explain the breed, the age of the victim, and the circumstances of why and how such things came to be. Also that being said if you still think I'm a horrid mother for having this breed know this: Ive had the dog since she was 3m old (Iwas 6m prego at the time) trained her myself and introduced my children properly to my dog. Ive also not only taught my dog but my kids as well. They know not to go around any animal while its eating/ drinking, not to mess with an animal while it sleeps and to be gentle while playing with an animal with adult supervision. Even my youngest who's 1 knows these rules and its never to early to introduce your child to a pet as long as you teach them and keep teaching them. If you still think I'm horrid well then you're just ignorant...

I'mma little elf

I wanted to make something with my new Xmas yarn stash but didn't know what and well I found this cute little pattern for a 10 inch thick scarf (which is a little much for Florida) Well I changed alot of things about it and turned it into an elven hooded scarf and its my fave thing to wear! best thing about it is I can wear it all year if I wanted! light weight and breathable yet warm enough for a cold day.

HAPPY NEW...

I wish I wrote down the pattern as I went but I didnt :( but I will be wipping up another for my dog so I will be wrighting it down soon and I'll be posting it the pattern. So Christmas is coming and in two days a very special birthday as well. I love this time of year! I love the cold although this year I wasn't prepared for it like i was last year when it decided not to be cold lol. Anyways my baby girl will be 1 on the 8Th and I cant believe it! I'm gonna make something for her (just don't know what) and then Christmas will be here soon. Were hoping to go to Tennessee later in January so I'm looking forward to it although I'm skeptical on if we're still going. Also in January i will be starting on my divorce from my ex thank the heavens for that! As for the new year my only hope is that me and Jay get married finally and that our little Zoie will get the adoption by him that we have been waiting for! All in all I think this 2011 year shall be an exciting one :) many new projects ahead as well so be prepared for some pattern fun :)

thankful for the holidays?

So after the husle and busle of the thanks giving holiday me and my family of girls (oh and jay) decided to go have some fun at the craft store. So ne who i got a new talent... kniting! so yeah i bought me some new yarn called blankie omg so soft i love it! and a teach your self to knit book. and thus started to knit i got the basics but with all the distractions of my world I find it is much harder to knit then it is to crochet so how do i split my time to do both? crochet while the kidos are up and driving every one crazy and knit when they are quietly asleep in their beds. and if your wondering why i decided to pick up knitting??? thanksgiving night to our delight and surprise we find out there is to be a new addition yay :) so i want to make something extra special that i havent done for the others yet. we wont know the sex til later in december and that gives me some time to master the basics. AND to top off all that my little baby will be one next week how the time flies. and shes starting to walk and talk and its overwhelmingly happiness for me with a touch of sadnees for they grow up so fast :/

a blanket for grandma

So I'm taking a small break from crochet for a few days after this project! I had only a few days to make this blanket for my grandma's 70Th birthday. The whole thing was a surprise. My aunt decided to have a last minute surprise party for her and it was a HUGE surprise. To top it off I gave her this blanket made in her favorite color YELLOW! She was so happy to see it :) and a bonus I got to meet my cousin's wife Jo Jo and her new bundle of joy. Good thing I brought baby James's blanket too :)

All and all a good day for us all, hugs all around. Only down fall is hubby got in a pretty bad wreck on the way home from work and his fave car didn't make it out alive so I'll be surprising him with a blanket with the "Mits" emblem and colors on it. hope he likes it <3

Venting just isnt gonna help...

so yeah like the title says venting just isn't gonna help :( but oh well things were so good and now yet again i just cant trust any one i hate that helpless alone feeling i get when my world gets all scrambled up and i have to slowly let people back in i hate the uncertainty of trust and all to do with it. needless to say in venting on my house and my crochet stash and they are hurting from my anger. soon the clothes will feel my pain as well. my f***ing chest hurts like a mother f***er and i don't have any thing to calm my self. just trapped inside my head thinking thinking thinking i cant stand it! i hate not being able to shut off my thoughts and i just feel like I'm shutting down. what can i do?... like i said venting just isn't gonna help :(
