chrismas is comming as well as...

So Christmas is coming and in two days a very special birthday as well. I love this time of year! I love the cold although this year I wasn't prepared for it like i was last year when it decided not to be cold lol. Anyways my baby girl will be 1 on the 8Th and I cant believe it! I'm gonna make something for her (just don't know what) and then Christmas will be here soon. Were hoping to go to Tennessee later in January so I'm looking forward to it although I'm skeptical on if we're still going. Also in January i will be starting on my divorce from my ex thank the heavens for that! As for the new year my only hope is that me and Jay get married finally and that our little Zoie will get the adoption by him that we have been waiting for! All in all I think this 2011 year shall be an exciting one :) many new projects ahead as well so be prepared for some pattern fun :)

thankful for the holidays?

So after the husle and busle of the thanks giving holiday me and my family of girls (oh and jay) decided to go have some fun at the craft store. So ne who i got a new talent... kniting! so yeah i bought me some new yarn called blankie omg so soft i love it! and a teach your self to knit book. and thus started to knit i got the basics but with all the distractions of my world I find it is much harder to knit then it is to crochet so how do i split my time to do both? crochet while the kidos are up and driving every one crazy and knit when they are quietly asleep in their beds. and if your wondering why i decided to pick up knitting??? thanksgiving night to our delight and surprise we find out there is to be a new addition yay :) so i want to make something extra special that i havent done for the others yet. we wont know the sex til later in december and that gives me some time to master the basics. AND to top off all that my little baby will be one next week how the time flies. and shes starting to walk and talk and its overwhelmingly happiness for me with a touch of sadnees for they grow up so fast :/

a blanket for grandma

So I'm taking a small break from crochet for a few days after this project! I had only a few days to make this blanket for my grandma's 70Th birthday. The whole thing was a surprise. My aunt decided to have a last minute surprise party for her and it was a HUGE surprise. To top it off I gave her this blanket made in her favorite color YELLOW! She was so happy to see it :) and a bonus I got to meet my cousin's wife Jo Jo and her new bundle of joy. Good thing I brought baby James's blanket too :)

All and all a good day for us all, hugs all around. Only down fall is hubby got in a pretty bad wreck on the way home from work and his fave car didn't make it out alive so I'll be surprising him with a blanket with the "Mits" emblem and colors on it. hope he likes it <3

Venting just isnt gonna help...

so yeah like the title says venting just isn't gonna help :( but oh well things were so good and now yet again i just cant trust any one i hate that helpless alone feeling i get when my world gets all scrambled up and i have to slowly let people back in i hate the uncertainty of trust and all to do with it. needless to say in venting on my house and my crochet stash and they are hurting from my anger. soon the clothes will feel my pain as well. my f***ing chest hurts like a mother f***er and i don't have any thing to calm my self. just trapped inside my head thinking thinking thinking i cant stand it! i hate not being able to shut off my thoughts and i just feel like I'm shutting down. what can i do?... like i said venting just isn't gonna help :(

UPDATE: little lady bug costume

Just making a quick update on the lady bug costume. Here is my little lady bug showing off the costume except shes not wearing the black pants and shirt. Also if you make the hat and you have a sensitive baby use soft yarn I used red heart and she doesn't like the feel of it :( so I'm remaking the hat in a different yarn that she will be able to tolerate better.

easy pipe cleaner spider webs

Made these cute spider webs and spiders on a whim with the hubby and kidos.

  • You take 3 to 4 pipe cleaners and make the "arms" of the web and starting at the center you wrap the yarn around each arm alternating going under and over each arm.

  • Then you tie off and make the spider. Using 2 pipe cleaners make 4 big legs by cutting them in half.

  • Then tie them together by wraping another pipe cleaner around the center of the 4 legs.

  • You should now have 8 little legs and the body. attach and hang up :)

coffee covered strawberries afghan

This is a Granny Square afghan that I made my four year old. Its a basic granny square made with Red Heart Super Saver yarn in coffee and petal pink. Perfect size for her toddler bed. Now im working on a "strawberry coffee fields" ripple afghan for her baby sister to match hers :) pictures of that soon.

cute little top hat

So I found this cute little hat on a friends blog a few days back and just had to make it. Unfortunately the pattern was untested so I decided I couldn't pass it up and started working on it. That pattern called for and "I" sized hook and #4 worsted weight yarn. After a whole night of working on it and working out the bugs I decided to turn in for the night by that time it was 11:30! Well I just finished it this morning and I had to unravel it like 3 more times but here it is. And my beautiful big girl Zoie is modeling it for me though it's to big for her. This pattern can be made smaller by using a smaller hook or deleting a row or two on the top. That's why I love it! I can now make a matching hat for her and my 9 month old baby girl, we will be a couple of Madd Hatters lol :) yes I'm a dork but ya gotta love it. After the blog fixes the pattern I'll post a link or you can contact me and I'll email it to you.

my first sweater

So I got this email with a surprise sweater pattern in it and decided I would try it out seeing how I have a TON of yarn and no thoughts on what to make.... so here it is my very first sweater it only took me a day with the daily hustle and bustle of being a stay at home mom. I made it big for my baby's Xmas's present though I believe she'll be able to wear it 2 Xmas's in a row lol. I used a "G" sized hook and it came out bigger than expected but oh well :) I have enough yarn left to make a super cute hat to match it so that picture will come soon. But here is the sweater. and I really need a new couch! lol

i just had the greatest idea!

i just had a thought...for Christmas ordaments and a arrangement of other hanging thing-a-ma-gigs i could use a soft easy to bend metal wire like yarn to "crochet" do-dads. ill post a picture next week after i get me some wire and test my awesome idea out. crossing my fingers and hoping its not an epic "FAIL" lol

doggie tie

This is another collar cover of a tie I made with a "T" for TALA. And of course she loves to prance around all dolled up.

rainbow collar cover bandana

A quick easy way to "PIMP" your dog and use up old yarn you have nothing better to do with :)
A simple collar cover and not as hot and annoying to your dog. Best for the dogs that hate wearing things. TALA my model loves to dress up so she was very happy to wear and model her new bandana.

Doggie bow tie

Made this cute little bow for a friend's doggie. The bow is modled by my little poochie TALA. It's a pattern combo of a collar cover and a hair bow. Best part is you can make this in a TON of colors!

sunshine yellow baby set

This is a set that I've made to see if I could sale on eBay. It will be up until I sell it and when I do I'll be making 3 more sets, a pink one, a blue one, and a green one. I've named this one my "sunshine yellow set". Has booties, a hat, bib, and receiving sized blanket.

love bots

This cute little pair are V-Day robots out of a magazine put out this year. Can't remember which one there are many I get lol. They were very easy and only the 2nd Amigurumi I've made. I'm currently working on the Ali unicorn, followed by Clop which I hope comes out better than these attempts even though they were quite good. If you're really wanting this pattern i will gladly send you the name and print date of the mag. But it may take a bit to find the right one! lol

Ive had such a good day considering we did almost nothing all day! Me and the Fam. went out to eat and it was awesome... and now were just sitting here playing civi balls 1&2. The only productive thing we've done is laundry which I'm dreading folding and putting up tomorrow...OH WELL but on an end note its been a great day and hope tomorrow is just as good. xoxo

baby blankie

My 1st baby blanket for my little girl. It took me like 2 weeks to complete, just because I was just getting back into the swing of things.
